Storm Erika closely followed


State Puerto Rico alert and Barbuda tropical storm Erika

05:31 PM Miami .- The islands of the northeastern Caribbean Sea today issued tropical storm warnings and surveillance because "Erika", which is expected to be close to Puerto Rico in the afternoon of Thursday, reported the National Hurricane Center (CNI) in Miami.

According to the last part of the CNI, 5:00 (9:00 GMT), "Erika" is a tropical storm "poorly organized" located at 515 kilometers southeast of San Juan de Puerto Rico, moving westward at 17 kilometers per hour with maximum sustained winds of 65 mph, DPA said.

While CNI believes that Erika could weaken to a tropical depression in the coming days, said the tropical storm warning and ordered to Dominica tropical storm watch for Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands and British issued in the last hours, while recommended Dominican Republic and Haiti to "monitor" the progress of the new weather phenomenon in the region.

Moca: preparations are initiated with the authorities and rescue intituciones the state to assume the effects of the passage of this storm in this part of the country. In addition the Dominican Red Cross branch Moca and has trained staff and equipment in case of intervention.
